DIRECTV Drops Russian-language Channels
Today DIRECTV announced that they are dropping all Russian-language channels from their lineup effective immediately. The following is a copy of the notice they sent to all DIRECTV FOR BUSINESS and DIRECTV Hospitality dealers.
Effective today, we no longer offer Russian-language programming on the DIRECTV platforms, as it consists largely of Russian government-owned channels.
Russia Direct™, Russia Direct™ II and RTR-Planeta A La Carte packages have been removed and the content is no longer available via a DIRECTV subscription. Russia Today TV (channel 321) has been removed from all base programming packages as well.
The customer’s account will be adjusted with a full month’s credit for charges related to this programming update and they will no longer be billed for the channels going forward. Expect to see this adjustment within 1-2 bill cycles.
